Jain Molten Chocolate Lava Cake

Jain Molten Chocolate Lava CakeServing : 3-4 Person

Ingredients :

  • 1 cup All Purpose Flour (Maida)
  • 3/4th cup Sugar
  • 2tbsp Cocoa Powder
  • 2 tsp Baking Powder
  • 1/4 th tsp Salt
  • 1/2 cup Milk
  • 2 tbsp Vegetable Oil
  • 2-3 drops of Vanilla Essence
  • 1 cup Brown (Cane) Sugar
  • 1/4 th cup Cocoa powder
  • 1 3/4th cup Boiling Water

Method :

Sieve 1 cup flour, sugar, baking powder, salt in a mixing bowl. Mix milk and vegetable oil and add to the dry ingredients. Grease a deep pan and spread the cake mix smoothly in the bottom.

Mix 1 cup firmly packed brown sugar and 1/4th cup cocoa powder in a bowl. Sprinkle onto the cake mix. Pour 1 and 3/4th cup of boiling water on it. (DO NOT MIX).

Preheat the oven at 200 degrees centigrade. Bake the cake at 180 degrees centigrade for 40 to 45 mins. Serve hot and indulge in the molten chocolate.

 

Jain Sweet Corn Soup

Jain Sweet Corn SoupServing : 2 Person

Ingredients :

  •  2 Sweet Corn Cobs
  • 1 tbsp Corn Flour
  • 1/2 Capsicum (Bell Pepper) (Finely Chopped)
  • 1/4 cup Milk (optional)
  • 4 cups of water
  • 1tbsp Butter
  • Salt to Taste
  • Pepper to Taste

For Serving :

  • Soya Sauce
  • Chillies in vinegar (optional)

Method :

Remove kernels of sweet corn cobs and keep it aside. Crush 1/4 th part of corn kernels. Boil rest of corn kernels in 4 cups of water (in microwave for 5-10 minutes) till it softens. Mix 1 tbsp corn flour to 1/4 th cup of milk and make a paste.

Heat butter in a pan and add finely chopped peppers to it. Fry till crisp. Add boiled corn kernels along with water and let it come to a boil. Add cornflour paste to it and let it boil for 2-3 mins. Add salt and papper to taste and switch off the gas when soup thickens.

Serve hot with soya sauce and chillies in vinegar.

Note :

  1. You can use 1 canned sweetcorn kernels of fresh sweet corn cob. You still need to crush a part of it and boil rest of it.
  2. You can dissolve cornflour in water instead of milk. Milk gives the soup creamy comsistency.

 

Jain Minty Kiwi Mocktail

Jain Minty Kiwi MocktailServing : 2 -3 Person

Ingredients :

  • 4 Kiwi Fruit
  • 4-5 springs of Mint (Phudina) Leaves
  • Sugar (if necessary)
  • Salt To Taste
  • Roasted Cumin (Jeera) Powder to Taste
  • 2 Glasses Soda (Lemonade, Sprite)

Method :

Peel kiwi fruit and dice into cubes and add to a blender. Add mint leaves. Add sugar only if kiwi are too sour. Blend it to a smooth puree. Add salt and roasted cumin powder to taste.

Add 2 tsp of this puree to serving glass and fill the rest of the glass with chilled soda. Serve immediately.

Jain Dal Bati

Jain Daal BatiServing : 2 -3 Person

Ingredients :

For Bati :

  • 2 cups Wheat Flour
  • 2-3 tbsp Ghee/Oil
  • Salt To Taste
  • Ghee to Serve

For Daal refer to Jain Panchkuti Daal

Method :

For Baati : Mix flour, salt, oil/ ghee in abowl and knead a stiff dough using water. Make 8-10 equal sized balls out of it and place them on a greased baking tray. Preheat the oven and bake the baatis on 180 degree centigrade for 40-45 minutes. Check by pricking a tooth pick in it.(it should come out clean). Remove the baatis from oven and soak it in a cup of ghee. (alternatively just pour 1-2 tsp of ghee on it and let it soak in.)


Serve Baati with Panchkuti Daal and Ghee.

Jain Panchkuti Dal

Serving: 2 -3 Person

Ingredients :

  • 1 cup Mixed Daal*
  • 1 tbsp Ghee
  • 1/2 tsp Mustard Seeds (Rai)
  • 1/2 tsp Cumin Seeds (Jeera)
  • Pinch of Asofoetida (Hing)
  • 2 Slit Green Chillies
  • 8-10 Curry Leaves
  • 2 Tomatoes (Finely Chopped)
  • 1 tsp Red Chilli Powder
  • 1/4 tsp Turmeric (Haldi) Powder
  • 1/2 tsp Coriander- Cumin (Dhaniya-Jeera) Powder
  • 1/2 tsp Garam Masala Powder
  • Salt To Taste
  • 1 tsp Lemon Juice
  • Coriander (Finely Chopped) To Garnish

*Mixed daal contains equal amounts of Yellow Moong Daal, Tur Daal, Urid Daal, Masoor Daal and Chana Daal.

Method :

Wash all the daal together and soak it for half an hour. Pressure cook the dal for 4 whistles. Roughly blend the boiled daal to a coarse consistency. Heat ghee in a pan and add rai, jeera, chillies, hing, curry leaves and chopped tomatoes. Add salt, red chilli powder, haldi, dhaniya jeera powder and garam masala to the daal. Let the tomato soften and then add boiled daal to it. Add water if needed. Add lemon juice and chopped coriander and let it cook for a minute more.

You can serve this as Dal Baati or with JeeraRice, Roti, Naan etc.
