Jain Dosa

Serving : 2-3 Person

Ingredients :

  • 1 1/2 cups Rice
  • 1/2 cup Skinless Black Gram (Urid Dal)
  • 1 tsp Fenugreek (Methi) Seeds
  • Salt To Taste
  • Oil

Method :

Soak rice, urid dal and methi seeds for 2-3 hours. Grind it to a smooth paste using water as needed. Cover the vessel and keep it in a warm place to ferment for atleast 4-6 hours. Add salt to the batter and leave it aside.

Heat a non-stick flat tawa and pour 2-3 tablespoons of batter on it, spread the batter in circular motion quickly to get uniform and thin dosa. Let the dosa cook and turn golden from one side. Add 1 tsp of oil on sides of dosa and then carefully scrape the dosa from tawa and fold to serve. Repeat the process with remaining batter but wipe the tawa with wet cloth in between to cool down the tawa and progress with another dosa.

Serve hot with chutney and sambhar.

    1. Wash and soak broken rice and udad dal seperately for 2 hours in lukewarm water. Grind them seperately and then mix them , add salt and the batter is ready to make dosas for your breakfast.
