  1. Hi, very good recipe. Had a quick question though – you have mentioned boiled pasta in your recipe for sauce but not in the ingredient list. Do you mean the noodles?
    Let me know soon!
    Thanks!

    1. Hi simran,
You can boil rice with excess of water and drain out excess water whhen rice is done. Put the rice back on sstove for a minute so that any remaining water burns. If you are using rice for this recipe, you can spread it on a plate to cool down.

  2. Also rice in white sauce is a good idea. Rajma in red sauce, spicy paneer is a good combination

  3. I only started reading on jainism recently, go veggies =p seems odd that you can have tomatoes though, tomatoes being carnivores that drain the life of insects through thier roots.

  4. How is tomato a jain food when they grow by killing insects (look it up) they feed off them under the soil.

    1. Hi Leo,

Tomatoes are specifically avoided during “Tithi Days” and Jain Festival Days due to heavy presence of seeds. Jain Dharma always believes in consuming food as a necessity and not pleasure – hence if you consider a food which is necessary for our heath for eg. Ginger Powder we should have it as less as possible and should not be consumed as a pleasure adding in all recipes. Some people do avoid it completely. However such foods are always consumed / not consumed per consciousness. I know alot of people who do not eat Bread and Ice Cream at all, or people who do not eat out ever. Tomatoes can be considered as guilty as Pulses or Leaves – Coriander Leaves for eg. Appreciate your concern though.
