Penne Pasta With White Sauce

Serving : 2 Persons

Ingredients :

For White Sauce :

  • 2 tbsp Butter
  • 2 tbsp All Purpose flour (Maida)
  • 2 cups Hot Milk
  • Salt To taste
  • Black Pepper (kali mari) Powder
  • 1 Green Chilli Finely Chopped (optional)

Other Ingredients :

  • 1 cup Boiled Vegetables
  • 1 cup Boiled Pasta
  • Oregano
  • Chilli Flakes (Paprika)
  • Grated Cheese

Method :

Vegetablesinclude red, green and yellow bell peppers, babycorn, sweet corn and broccoli florets. Boil the vegetables with little salt but dont overcook it. It should be crunchy. Saute the vegetables in butter for a minute and keep aside.

Boiling the Pasta: Take around 1 ltr of water in an utensil, add a pinch of salt and 1 tsp of oil and let it boil. Add pasta to boiling water and cook till pasta is soft.(cooked pasta floats in water). Drain the water out of Pasta and rinse it under cold running water to stop the cooking process. You can add bit of oil to prevent sticking.

For White Sauce : Heat butter in a pan and add maida in it. Cook for about a minute or till it is cooked but have not changed colour. Remove from the falme and add hot milk slowly taking care that there are no lumps formed. Heat the sauce again and add green chilli, salt and pepper  to taste. Stir continuosly on medium flame till it becomes thick as sauce. Remove it from flame.

To Serve : Put the sauce back on flame. Add all the boiled vegetables and the boiled pasta. Sprinkle grated cheese, paprika and oregano and serve hot.

    જૈન ખમણ બનવાની રીત :-

    સામગ્રી : 500 ગ્રામ ચણાની દાળ, છીણેલુ નારિયેળ, આદુ મરચાંનુ પેસ્ટ, ચપટી હિંગ, રાઈ, કોથમીર, તેલ, મીઠુ સ્વાદમુજબ, ખાવાનો સોડા અડધી ચમચી (ઈનો)

    બનાવવાની રીત – સૌ પ્રથમ ચણાની દાળને રાત્રે પલાળી મૂકો. સવારે તેનુ પાણી નિતારી વાટીને તેમાં તેલ અને સોડા નાખી ખૂબ ફીણો. હવે તેમાં આદુ-મરચાનુ પેસ્ટ અને મીઠુ નાખી આથો આવવા દો. આથો આવ્યા પછી થાળીમાં તેલ લગાવી ખીરાને પાથરી વરાળથી બાફી લો. 10 મિનિટ ઠંડુ થયા પછી તેને ચોરસ કાપી લો. એક કઢાઈમાં તેલ તપાવી રાઈ-હિંગ તતડાવો. આ તેલને ખમણ પર નાખી હલાવી લો. સમારેલી કોથમીર અને કોપરાનુ છીણ ભભરાવી ચટણી સાથે સર્વ કરો.

      Hi Bhumi,
      thanks for your recipe, I will try and upload it but you have mentioned to soak chana dal overnight, which is not allowed as per jainism. So either you cn soak it for 6-8 hours in day time and make the dish for dinner or else use besan (chana dal flour) for making instant khaman.

    Hi just want to know which pasta we should by from market which are gluten free n eggless. M confused which brand pastas are jain n eggless.
